About

I choose to share the raw reality of the sorrow of loss through the filter of hope in Jesus Christ.

I am a writer, an educator, a mom, a wife, and a coffee fiend. My two daughters and my son on earth teach me daily what grace is (for them and for myself). My children in heaven open my eyes to see the unseen. I write candidly about the wrestling that results from spiritual trauma. My hope is that those who’ve endured spiritual trauma and other painful life circumstances can meet a Jesus who is better than my meager words could describe. I believe that wrestling with God is necessary and healthy as my belief system is redefined and my relationship with Him is refined.

If you are reading, it is my hope that you will be moved to listen to others with deep compassion and share your own stories of life, love, and loss with deep conviction. We are all pilgrims in a broken world; I hope we walk together as we journey to the land “where no storms come.” See below:

Heaven-Haven

by Gerard Manley Hopkins

I have desired to go

Where springs not fail,

To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail

And a few lilies blow.

And I have asked to be

Where no storms come,

Where the green swell is in the havens dumb,

And out of the swing of the sea.
